Calvary Christian Center Endorses Wildstar for Governor
On Sunday May 20th, Pastor Phillip Goudeaux endorsed Nickolas Wildstar the Libertarian candidate for California Governor in front of his congregation of over 100 attendees that attended service. Dr. Goudeaux is a California native who along with his wife Brenda founded the Calvary Christian Center in 1980. For nearly 36 years, Dr. Goudeaux has fought the good fight of faith to make Calvary Christian Center one of the fastest growing multicultural congregations serving over 17,000 members. The ministry offers various Christian education programs, residential drug/alcohol recovery programs, weekly fresh produce and grocery giveaways, assistance to the needy, monthly business breakfasts, youth and young adult ministries, senior ministry, dance troupes, theatre arts, singles and married ministries, bereavement, weddings, counseling, and a host of other services for all ages. As an advocate for the preservation of Christian family values, Dr. Goudeaux was appointed by President Bill Clinton to serve as an Advisory Board member on the Committee for the Restoration of Black Families. Additionally, the Mayor and the City Council of Sacramento drafted a Resolution for the Betterment of Humanity honoring Dr. Goudeaux’s contributions in building healthy communities in Sacramento.
Since the shooting of Stephon Clark, Nickolas Wildstar has been mentoring his brother Stevante Clark who has had a difficult time coping with his brothers murder. Often at times this has caused him to lash out verbally against others and was even even admitted to mental health treatment facilities on 2 separate occasions. After meeting Nickolas Wildstar and establishing a trusting relationship, Stevante asked to be mentored by him. Shortly afterwards he joined his campaign staff as a volunteer stating that his time and involvement in helping Nickolas Wildstar to get elected was ‘therapeutic’. Stevante invited Nickolas to attend his families long time church with him, to which he gladly accepted.
The following weekend Nickolas Wildstar and his wife Crystal were in town and chose to attend Sunday service. Dr. Phillip Goudeaux introduced himself to the Wildstars upon arrival and welcomed them to the church then informed Nickolas that he would be supporting him. After his sermon, Pastor Goudeaux then introduced Nickolas Wildstar to those in attendance and encouraged them to vote for him in the upcoming primary election on Tuesday, June 5th.
